I have wonderful news! Our friends from Coursera will be offering a course this summer (2014) that many of us have been waiting for, for a good while. The Addicted Brain, starting on June 23rd (2014) is an 8-week course that you can take absolutely at no cost -unless you are interested in the certificate of completion, which I believe it has a cost.

Hi, Is it possible to receive a certificate of completion for this important topic. In Colorado, we have to accomplish a minimum of 40 hours in professional competency work.

Coursera offers certificates of completion for some of their courses. This might be one, but I don’t know for sure yet because they did not mention it on the course description. If they offer a certificate of completion, you might need to check with the Colorado’s certifying board for substance abuse counselors whether this course would count as CEUs. The course is not advertised as offering CEUs, so it would not count for hours here in Texas. Thanks for your comment and see you at the course! Samantha
